Chalaza is the given designation in zoology to a support structure in birds’ and reptiles’ eggs. In botanic, it is the region of the plant ova. Composed of a spiral structure that connects between membranes, it allows the yolk to stay suspended – thus stabilizing its position inside the egg. In this exhibition, the chalaza serves as a conducting thread that, although invisible, relates the exterior of each work to a joint core.
